Jutta was born in Berlin and
travelled to Australia in 1960. She studied art at the Marden
Education Centre in Adelaide and it was during that time she
was introduced to Silk Painting.
Jutta says "I was drawn
to this style of painting after discovering the lustrous texture
of the fibre and what vibrant colours it was possible to achieve
using this technique. I decided from that point on to specialise
in Silk Painting."
For 20 years she lived in Tasmania,
where her paintings were exhibited at 'Gallery Two' Ritchies
Art Mill in Launceston, the 'Crohill Gallery' at Bicheno and
at the 'Hythe Gallery' in Hobart.
In 1993, she and her husband
John (who is also a self-taught artist in leadlight), moved
to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland. Here, says
Jutta "the lush colours and the tropical atmosphere of
the area have influenced my work immensely."
Her paintings are in great demand
and have been exhibited at
- Montville Gallery in Hastings St, Noosa
- a well-known tourist location
here in Queensland
- Jabiru Gallery at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold
Coast
- Blue Marble Gallery at Buderim on the Sunshine
Coast
- Gallery D at Montville in the Sunshine Coast
Hinterland
One of Jutta's most endearing
qualities is her modesty and unwillingness to talk about herself.
So, it was only with the cooperation of her husband, John,
that I was able to glean this much information about such
an incredibly talented artist.
